Water Levels Drastically Affecting Racers

Fastest team down the river today: 4.5 hours;
Slowest: 7 hours.
Vetting: 3 hours.

Water levels are much lower than they were, and have negatively affected race times today, cutting the most into the shorter races' competitors ability to make headway into some of the latter sections of the course. At the same time, teams choosing the west option of the course encountered some problems on there own. Progress with the trekking section to CP15/TA bike drop screeched to a halt as the heat and navigational problems kept the teams pursuing a western route at bay.

Methinks only the more experienced and hardened 24-hour crowd, armed with more time and resolve, will press on beyond the bike drop and into the Pine Log/Alatoona bike sections.
